In Obama's state of Illinois, his glorious stature as a "accomplished nothing but can speak" politician has spawned another one. A man by the name of Dan Seals is running as Obama's twin brother. They look almost exactly alike. They're both articulate (woops, was that racist to say?). They both realize that they can talk about absolutely nothing and get people's attention as long as they talk in a rhythm. They both have the same accomlishments.... nothing. That seems to be good enough for America and Illinois has been comfortable with that from their leaders for quite some time. Rep. Mark Kirk is a moderate republican that has been gaining in popularity with his constituents and other members of congress. Now he has a False Obamessiah giving him the fight for his political life by parroting the same exact things Obama has. Seals has tied Kirk to Bush. Seals has said that Kirk is "more of the same", a popular Obama slogan describing McCain. This is a bad joke that has no punchline. But wait, it gets better.
Over the last year Seals has pretty much been unemployed. He has made $5000 this year. He has lied about his resume. All of his qualifications are is looking and sounding like Obama, who's qualifications are also in question. This year sadly that may be good enough. Maybe Seals is getting to know William Ayers at this moment.
The DNC is putting a lot of money behind Seals because he looks like Obama. "He can win just by doing that!" Sadly, they might be right about that. We're about to elect a man as President who not only has accomplished nothing anywhere, but has done his damnedest to make sure his positions are clouded at best. He voted "present" 130 times as an Illinois state legislator. He has not proposed one bill as a U.S. senator. He's spent most of his time in the Senate running for President. During the recent economic collapse people have touted his coolhanded approach to the situation. Doing nothing I wouldn't call being coolhanded. This is what he has done on nearly every issue we face today. He looks poised to become President of the United States because Americans are blindly wanting change. That happened in 2006 as well when Americans put in a democratic majority in congress. Now they have the lowest approval ratings in the history of polltaking on the congress. Now they not only want to reward the democratic majority that they can't stand, but also give them a President without checks and balances. It's no wonder why Dan Seals thinks he can win this election year. He just might. I'd pinch myself to see if I'm awake to make sure this is really happening, but I can smell that I need a shower so I know I'm awake. America, before you start saying you were duped this time next year, remember you asked for it.
